Cleaning Your Colorado Vinyl Fence

Cleaning Your Colorado Vinyl Fence

Cleaning your Colorado vinyl fence can be a simple process or might require some good old hand scrubbing. If it is just dirt, grime or mildew, then all you need is a bucket of soapy water, garden hose and soft bristle brush. If you have a brush that attaches to your hose similar to what you wash your car with, that works even better. I have found here in Fort Collins, that power washers works the best and is quicker cleaning vinyl fence materials.

Now if your trying to remove let’s say scuff marks from the tires of your lawn mower, cleaning your vinyl fence with soapy water might not be the answer. Cleaning your Colorado vinyl fence that has scuff marks may require to use lacquer thinner. Here at our company in Colorado, Cedar Supply, we use this product when necessary to clean our Colorado vinyl fence prior to shipping to our customers. It works really well. The best way to remove these marks is to use a rough textured rag. Use as little of the thinner as you can to clean these areas.

Once you remove these marks, wash the area off with clean water and a soft cloth.Make sure that you cover the areas that has landscaping and plant material so that any residue does not come into contact with this vegetation. Also, when cleaning your vinyl fence, with this lacquer thinner, always wear safety goggles and gloves to protect your eyes and skin areas. Remember, this thinner is flammable so make sure the rag is completely dried out before discarding. The safest way, is to submerge the used rag into a container with water. Hopefully this information was helpful in removing unsightly marks.
